Cornyn Doesn’t Get It

Republican voters in Delaware purged another one of those northeast progressive phoney Republicans. At this rate, we may have most of these wannabe Democrats exiled to the unemployment lines. From Wki, “Castle is a member of various moderate/liberal Republican Organizations, such as Republicans For Environmental Protection, The Republican Majority For Choice, Republicans For Choice and Christine Todd Whitman’s Its My Party Too (another liberal Republican group).”

The media is totally missing what is going on here. We the people saw what happened in 1994, when the establishment Republicans took back Congress after two years of a progressive Democrat President with a Democrat Congress. The establishment Republicans started out conservative, to force the hand of President Clinton, but soon became drunk with power just as Democrats are. This eventually lead to the 2006 shellacking of Congressional Republicans by the Democratic Party.

If there is a resurgence of the Republican Party, again after two years of a progressive Democrat President with a Democrat Congress, we the people do not want a repeat of 1994. Not with an establishment that has proven they are nothing more than Democrat light. If the Republicans should take back, or at least dilute the Democratic Party majorities, we want these Republicans to have and retain conservative principals.

What set me off is what I read in an email from the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Two days after the establishment Republican candidate went down to defeat to Christine O’Donnell, in the Delaware senatorial primary, the NRSC Chairman, John Cornyn, could not even mention Christine O’Donnell in his email asking for donations. He referred to Scott Brown, a traditional (read, liberal) northeast Republican and others. It is obvious that Cornyn, like the media, doesn’t get it.
