Ban the Ivy League!

Presidents 41-44 are all graduates of ‘Ivy League’ schools. The last non-Ivy League president was President Ronald Reagan, with a B.A. in Economics and Sociology from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois.

When President Reagan left office, the United States was at it’s zenith, in attitude, character and strength. Strength of the economy, technological prowess, military and international respect that soon overcame the soviet threat.

Then, with an unexplained tack, the public began to worship the ‘Social Elites.’

The Republican Party fell back to it’s ‘Big Government’ wing and elected George H. W. Bush. A bureaucrat/politician (the worst combination) that ended his career by lying to the public during his campaign with the slogan, “Read my lips…no new taxes.” It didn’t take but two years for this elitist to disregard the promise made to the American voters and sign a bill to raise taxes.

Then with the help of Ross Perot, Bill Clinton was elected twice, without a majority of the popular vote in either election. His elitist initiatives, and those of his ‘two for one’ Marxist wife, were only tempered by the rise of the Republican legislative majority, lead by Newt Gingrich. Gingrich was not quite as “Big Government’ as Clinton, but was the southern regional director for the Nelson Rockefeller presidential campaign in 1968. Of course, Nelson Rockefeller represented the even ‘Bigger Government’ wing of the Republican Party over the ‘Command and Control’ wing represented by Richard Nixon.

Then came George W. Bush. The expansion of the federal government accelerated with this dual ‘Ivy League’ president. With the ‘No child left behind’ educational initiative, the prescription drug addition to Medicare, the two war strategy and the obvious desire to leave the southern border wide open, this elitist wreaked havoc beyond all that had come before.

Near the conclusion of five consecutive presidential terms, presided by three ‘Ivy League’ alum, came the 2008 economic collapse, wrecking all the good done during the Reagan presidency. It took these ‘Ivy League’ elitists nearly 20 years to undo what Reagan, with cooperation of Paul Volker at the Federal Reserve, had fixed in under four years.

So the left had to match the dual ‘Ivy League’ Bush with one of their own. Barack H. Obama II assumed the mantle with the economy so damaged by his predecessors, he was able to, with Democratic Party control of both houses of Congress for the first two years and of the Senate for the next four years, quadruple the annual deficit, increase the national debit by 50% in just under four years and have the credit rating of the United States of America downgraded on more than one occasion. Quite an accomplishment, driving the United States ever closer to default. At the beginning of December 2014, the national debt surpassed eighteen trillion dollars, a greater than seventy percent increase since January 2009.

When will the citizens of this still great land wake up to the ‘Ivy League’ schooling of their ‘leadership’ and start looking to educated leaders that have our best interests in mind. Ideas like limited constitutional government, freedom from tyranny of the state and the liberty to pursue one’s happiness without government interference at every turn.
