So, with the early 21st Century media churning like a school of fish in freshly chummed water, about the impeachment, I don’t believe I saw any mention of the significance of the date, January 16, 1920. Thanks to passage of the 18th Amendment and the accompanying Volstead Act, 100 years ago, we are still living with the descendant crime organizations that were formed and refined during the period between 1920 and 1933 when common sense again prevailed with the 21st Amendment. We can all thank the late 19th Century and early 20th Century radical progressive Temperance Movement, associated with the early radical feminist take over of the already universal drive towards national acceptance of female suffrage (eight states already had universal suffrage at the state and local level elections).
