Once again, private sector unions have reduced their value, at one time railing against companies that had been unfair to their employees, to now simply, vindictively, screwing ‘the man.’ And at what cost? Did the strikes against Hostess Brands, Inc., accomplish their supposed goals? No, instead, most of 18,500 employees at “33 bakeries, 565 distribution centers, approximately 5,500 delivery routes and 570 bakery outlet stores,” will lose their jobs immediately, the rest as soon as the company assets have been liquidated.

Is it any wonder why the public sector unions have grown over the last 50 years, as private sector union membership has shrunk over the same period, to about 9% representation (theft) of private sector employees (dues)?

So far, taxpayers and tax receivers keep voting for the government to expand, bloating public sector union coffers and expanding the leviathan federal, state, county and city governments to generate more dues paying ‘workers.’

A day will come when widespread layoffs will result from the collapse of government largess, at all levels. This is when you will be glad there is a second amendment.
