While the title of Caroline Glick’s latest article is, ‘Who Lost Egypt?,’ she covers the gambit of Middle East troubles, from both American and Israeli points of view.

She starts off by using the U.S. response to the loss of China to the Soviet sphere, in the late 1940’s, as an analogy to the U.S. response to the loss of Egypt to the Islamic sphere which appears to have been completed earlier this week.

From the one week conversion of Egypt to an Islamic state by it’s new leader, President Mohamed Morsy, to failures by the Obama Administration to address the atrocities in Syria, to the lack of resolve to stop Iran in it’s maniacal desire to produce nukes along with the continual statements predicting the demise of Israel and America, the Middle East is a powder keg with world economic ramifications.

On Friday (8/17/12), Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, “The Zionist regime and the Zionists are a cancerous tumor.” He went on, “The nations of the region will soon finish off the usurper Zionists in the Palestinian land…. A new Middle East will definitely be formed. With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists.”

It will be interesting to see if the Obama Administration will address, publicly in this election year, the Muslim Brotherhood’s new grip on Egypt, along with the Syrian and Iranian questions. From Caroline Glick’s article:

On Sunday (8/12/12), new President Mohamed Morsy completed Egypt’s transformation into an Islamist state. In the space of one week, Morsy sacked the commanders of the Egyptian military and replaced them with Muslim Brotherhood loyalists, and fired all the editors of the state-owned media and replaced them with Muslim Brotherhood loyalists.
