As drones are trending to lower cost, hence smaller and lighter platforms, along comes the complimentary weapon system to retain lethality of the unmanned aircraft.

That sounds good for our overseas theaters, but there was this article last month that describes more domestic sites than would seem needed for just testing and training for overseas drone operations.

While the US begins to overtly utilize this technology, in a potential confrontation with Iran, how long before there are marine drone bases, co-located with Coast Guard bases, on our own lakes and rivers?
