Other than the fantastic ‘Fast and Furious’ coverage over the last couple of years by Cam Edwards, of the Cam and Company radio program, part of NRANews.com, this explanation by Rush Limbaugh, of the differences between ‘Wide Receiver’ and ‘Fast and Furious,’ could not be clearer.

In the Bush era, the ‘Wide Receiver’ program was conducted with Mexican government knowledge, cooperation and participation. The program used RFID chips embedded into the guns for tracking the guns. This netted many arrests until the criminals discovered the embedded RFID chips and started disabling the chips. When that was discovered, the program was terminated in October, 2007.

In the Obama era, the ‘Fast and Furious’ program was conducted without Mexican government knowledge. The fact that the Obama Justice Department showed total disregard for a sovereign country, claiming to be able to track weapons without cooperation and participation of that foreign country, may show that a sinister objective was really at play.

It appears the plan was to actually lose control of the guns in Mexico. Then, when the guns would begin showing up at Mexican crime scenes, and it was found that the guns were coming from the US, there would be an outcry on both sides of the border for stricter US gun control laws.

Like any plan, there were unintended consequences. While the guns did begin to show up at Mexican crime scenes, the guns also began showing up at US crimes scenes. Then the the unthinkable killing of Border Patrolman Brian Terry with a ‘Fast and Furious’ gun happened. This drew the attention of forces that ultimately had the President claim ‘executive privilege’ to cover up documents that would expose this deadly ruse.
