Maybe the ‘Occupy While Living in *hit’ O-zombies see themselves as the Decemberists of 1825 or the Bolsheviks of 1917, both of Russia. The Decemberists accomplished nothing to remove Nicholas I and it’s leaders were eventually hanged. The Bolsheviks toppled Nicholas II, ending the House of Romanov, started a civil war, which lead to the communist government, which lead to the totalitarian dictator Stalin, which lead to the execution of many of the Bolshevik leaders, including the assassination of Trotsky, in Mexico, years later.
What monarchy do these dolts believe they are to take down? If they are raging against the machine, their left IS the machine. So much so, that the character ‘Flash,’ in the Kinks album ‘Preservation Act 2,’ is actually the ‘blue print’ for Obama.
The commentator is right when he points out that the protesters are protesting having a good life and that they need to learn to develop a sense of gratitude for what they have.
But the commentator’s idea that 3.5 days per year in a cabin with out modern conveniences will instill a new found appreciation of the freedoms, liberties and opportunities they now take for granted, and mock, is misguided. Six to ten weeks of military basic training will correct a majority of these attitudes, but for those that resist, I say drop them in North Korea or Iran, without money or ID, and see how they fair. Or force them to live in real third world poverty, like in Haiti or other similar countries, again without money or ID. Fools.
When country singer Luke Stricklin returned from service in 2005, from the slums of Iraq, he recorded the song, ‘American by God’s Amazing Grace.’ Find it and listen to it. Then explain it to your kids. Explain how unbelievably fortunate they are to have been born in the USA, a place people are still trying to get into, not out of.
